Tomb of the Unknown ChristmasOur Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.

For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Hashtag hijack: Libs trend #DoItForGabby; Conservatives respond with hard truths

“Two years ago, a mentally ill young man shot me in the head, killed six of my constituents, and wounded 12 others.” ~Giffords #DoItForGabby

Earlier this evening, lefties got the hashtag #DoItForGabby trending. “Gabby” is Gabby Giffords, the former congresswoman who was shot in the head in Tucson, Ariz., two years ago. Earlier this week, Giffords and her husband Mark Kelly founded a gun control organization that aims to “[b]an assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, limit guns per individual, require registration, and expand background checks.”

The success was short-lived, however, as Second Amendment supporters quickly commandeered the hashtag and taught the gun-grabbers some hard truths.

Truth #1: Giffords hasn’t always been a crusader for gun control.

#DoItForGabby Things change when you aren’t campaigning for office anymore. Hypocrite #tcot #tlot #tgdn #opslam

Giffords posted that photo to her Flickr page in the fall of 2010. As @exposeliberals notes, it was different then. She was running for re-election and wanted votes from Second Amendment supporters.

Truth #2: The man who shot Giffords, Jared Laughner, did not use an “assault weapon” to carry out his attack.

    Matt Dawson@SaintRPh
#DoItForGabby?! Loughner didn’t use an assault rifle! What are you wanting to “Do for Gabby?”
    13 Jan 13 ReplyRetweetFavorite
Loughner used a Glock semi-automatic handgun, the same kind of gun that Giffords used to brag about owning. Laughner used just one gun, not many. He obtained his weapon legally, and was able to pass a federal background check. Aside from restrictions on high-capacity magazines, it is unclear how any of Giffords’ proposals would have slowed Laughner down.

Truth #3: Laughner has serious mental health problems.

Help mothers of mentally ill sons get them help! #DoItForGabby, so there are no more Jared Lee Loughner’s out there preying on innocents.

Because crazy leftists like Jared Loughner should be locked up, #DoItForGabby.

It is time to stop pretending there is no link between mental illness and mass shootings. It is also time to re-consider deinstitutionalization. Let’s do it. For Gabby.

Oh, good grief. Here’s a depressing quote from that piece:

. Geithner was almost alone, the adult in White House discussions on handling GOP demands. The president and his other advisers had political and ideological misgivings about a deal. Geithner’s concern was bigger. He feared an economic collapse

Two thoughts: Geithner was the adult in the room?????????????? And HE feared an economic collapse????? What possible difference would it make to any of them at this point. It’s so confusing when an incompetent who can’t successfully file his own taxes makes supposedly important statements about national economic collapse. What on earth is anyone to think?

      And one more:

Obama isn’t quite out of control, but he’s getting close

Well, on that note–good morning, everyone. I’m going to bed now.

    Mornin’ y’all! It’s Monday!

At least we know why they’ve quit teaching cursive writing. Happy Monday all, I guess. At least I can still afford coffee – for now. 🙄

“..When the country finally collapses in a sea of debt and red ink, or even in a race war, neither he nor his Democratic Party will be blamed. It is likely that another Democrat will be elected to the White House in 2016.”

    • texan59 says:

And that guy is a liberal dem. Just makes ya all warm and fuzzy doesn’t it. 👿

    • Patriot Dreamer says:

“To put fine point on the matter, our president terrifies me, even though during most of my life I have been a liberal Democrat and voted for him in his first election.

If viewed honestly his first term has been an unmitigated disaster. The national debt is at an historic high. So is unemployment. Despite these sad, undeniable facts, he was elected to another term. That of course is typical of his history for much of his life. He is a master politician of the Chicago school and yet a disaster as a manager and practical leader.”

      • texan59 says:

PD – you have to look at this through Teh Won’s prism. It’s been a good start. He is purposely doing what he is doing. If you look at it as one who wants to bring this Country down a notch and intimidate successful people and corporations into doing exactly what you want them to do, he has been quite successful. Think about it. Most CEO’s of BIG companies aren’t too scared of most things or they never would’ve gotten where they are. They are scared of this guy. Remember when he told the bankers that he was the only one keeping the people with pitchforks from them. What did we see about a year or so later – occupoopers. It goes on and on. 👿

Gee whiz Mr. pResident, can we please be like them. It’s such a serene, bucolic lifestyle where we’ll just have tea every day. And that’s from 2000. I hate tea and don’t think we should drive on the wrong side of the road. I do not want to be like them. Not then, not now and not in the future.

Total politics, every D senator that opposed raising debt ceiling back when previous admin suggested it opposed idea vehemently, now Obama & them are demanding it, scaring granny and wonder why there is resistance?
Shut down Obama & his grifters if it means getting a budget in order…that’s what every hardworking American does when money is tight…they stop spending and look for ways to cut costs. What does people’s creditors do if they go over their limits? They cut them off!

  13. cajunkelly says:

I received this in an email from Rand Paul today. The body of the email is quite lengthy in describing obama’s intent, bolstered by the UN’s gun grab agenda.

With permission of admin here I’ll copy and paste the entire content.
When there’s a good link, usually posting “the whole thing” is actually counter-productive. Thank you for the link. –Admin

    • cajunkelly says:

That’s just the link for the survey. It doesn’t include Paul’s commentary. S’ok (shrug) probably there are those in admin who got the email as well.

Brennan is at the top of the evil administation…his hand goes back to Clinton’s administration in aiding OBL create the destruction of September 11, 2001. The CIA position is his reward for everything he has done for Obama including, current massive police state of the US, drones, Benghazi & it’s coverup.

  15. WeeWeed says:

I know nothing will be done, obviously, but WHAT ABOUT THE BUDGET?? Why is everybody on God’s green earth ignoring the fact that law requires there be a BUDGET???

  16. Sharon says:

I don’t care if it’s Ronald Reagan recommending it: I didn’t like it when he threw the doors open either. One time event, my foot.

I’m so sick of new paths to citizenship (read “I Broke The Law And I Still Got In–With Benefits”).

I’m sick of the manipulation and the lies and the deception and the victim groups and the lack of a national budget and the lack of a functioning Congress and the lack of an adequately trained and supported military.

Saw somewhere that someone’s recommending reinstating the draft. Oh, gee. Wonder why that’s come up? Maybe because the veterans are being sliced and diced after discharge? Guess what, military? You are NOT considered a victim class by this government. And if you are not on This Week’s Official List Of Victim-Classes, you are irrelevant. Unless they need you to bleed.

Far as I’m concerned, Rubio’s just another version of RINO.

  17. Josh says:

    From Ann yesterday:
“I caught an interesting factoid while reading a story about Algore selling his Marxist agitprop cable station to Al Jazeera last week. When it was first reported that Gore was selling CurrentTV, it was reported that CurrentTV received cable and satellite licensing revenues of $0.12 per month per subscriber – that is the pinch of incense you people who had CurrentTV included in your cable/sat package were paying to Algore. It mattered not that you never, ever turned CurrentTV on, or even knew that it was included in your package. Your $0.12 per month multiplied together put $80 million per year in cashflows into Algore’s hands in order to spread his evil, satanic filth.

The interesting factoid released last week was that cable/sat licensing revenues comprised 80% of CurrentTV’s revenue, with the other 20% coming from on-air advertising. I did not realize that these channels were THAT budgetarily dependent on the cable/sat fees. I would have thought that advertising revenue was in excess of 50% of their total revenue. I was very, very wrong in that assumption.

The point is, you people are paying for this crap, and they are TOTALLY dependent on your monthly pinches of incense. You and your tacit consent via your continued patronage of the cable/sat market are absolutely, positively, without question the entire driving force behind all of it. If they lose the cable/sat licensing revenues, it’s lights out, right now. The ad revenue is not even close to sufficient to keep them afloat. That’s just the walking around money to them.

How ironic that they are making the lion’s share of their money off of people who never, ever watch their channel, but are too apathetic to withdraw their consent and their dollars.

YOU made this psychopathic monster a nine-figure millionaire. If that doesn’t convince you of the need to TURN THE SHIT OFF, then I just don’t know what to say.”

  18. ctdar says:

    Clinton to testify next week:
    ….er I don’t remember,
    Can you repeat that?
May I have a glass of water?
I have a headache may I be excused?
