the law looks discretionary, “may” be imprisoned for not more than a year and fined not more than $1,000. So in theory you could get no prison time or fined as they see fit..

So if you are one of them, you walk. If you are from the wrong side of the fence, you pay.

  2. nobaddog says:

They could have at least asked him where did he get it from. Maybe they could have prosecuted a small fish because it wasn’t going him with the liberal message. We all know that its about who you know or how much money you have. Its been that way for hundreds of years.

  3. lovemygirl says:

OK, the remaining 32 NBC viewers need to turn the set off and walk away with their hands where we can see them.

  4. lovemygirl says:

So is Irv 4’8″ or is David 6’9″?

    • lovemygirl says:

      The internet helps:
      6′ 5″ for David

Oh my, just trying to find out their heights (for immature reasons) I find that they are friends…

In this town full of lawyers it should be no surprise that this event sold out in 44 seconds. DBax and I are already on red-alert for next year. It was also the nerd event of the year as we all howled at jokes referencing everything from puns based on inane points of law to references to local political scandal (loaded SUVs anyone? Anyone?) and an absolutely amazing sentence chastising the House Ethics Committee using the names of former reps who have gotten away with murder. The attorneys were Beth Wilkinson a partner at Paul Weiss (and wife of David Gregory, aka the Silver Fox, who was snapping pictures like a proud hubby!) and Irv Nathan, Acting Attorney General for DC. Both were hilarious and Beth looked so great in her black dress and patent leather heels, I was totally motivated to stick to my overly arduous diet.

  5. LouDaJew says:

well the media has an agenda. and yes this includes Fox News, as well as MSNBC and CNN. Dick Gregory should have to make a public apology that he broke the law at the least though. He should also have to explain how he got the 30 round magazine.

  6. sal paradise says:

Someone wrote this here before and it’s right on

all animals are created equal but some are more equal than others.

  7. Sal Paradise says:

Just wrote on the mayor of DC facebook page expressing my disgust….

  8. griz1234 says:

If it had been some pro-gun advocate who waved a hi-cap magazine around and pointed out that at magazine was just a piece of metal, as are all the inanimate objects the Lib’tards label as “assault”… He’d be going to jail.

Perhaps a FOIA request for a list of cases where people were prosecuted for magazine possession would be interesting.

  9. NBC got Al Roker to confess he pooped in the White House to help distract from this issue.
    Didn’t work. 👿

  10. czarowniczy says:

Well Duh, he is a member of the press, the press and the Administration have each others’ noses so far up the other’s posterior they are blinded and anyway, he was just using it as a prop to show the horrific nature of the infernal device. Heez a speshuh poyson
PS: Never expect a cop or ex-cop to be surprised when it comes to granting special favors or considerations to people in power or their friends/supporters.

  11. AghastInFL says:

Meanwhile for one not in the know the meaning of the law is quite different, it will be interesting to know what happens at this mans hearing on Wednesday:

  12. waltherppk says:

There is obviously equal protection and equal application of the laws since all men are created equal. Of course it is equally obvious some men are more equal than others. Elitism has its double standard which must be upheld in an unwavering collegiate spirit as the golden rule of reciprocity among the elite, no matter what the issue, but especially in judicial matters where justice is perfected by reciprocal courtesy affirming the special status of elites above the great unwashed mere subjects who are only ordinary citizens and ordinary people not fit by birth or wealth or status to be deserving of special status like the special rights and special treatment of the elite who are their betters. Ordinary common people must be continually reminded of their lower station in life by being put in receipt of a perpetual litany of abuses and usurpations and infringements upon their rights delivered from those elite who rightly lord things over them and whenever possible trample their inferiors for both sadistic pleasure and to provide an object lesson about who is whom in the grand scheme of things. What right thinking person could ever question this age old tradition that has long been written into English Law and the laws of many other nations which understand and practice such noble standards for what defines civilization.

    • waltherppk says:

So what should be the response to such aristocrats who are inherently inflammable ?
You light ’em up ….and toast marshmallows and sing sing campfire songs.

  13. elvischupacabra says:

“Honey, pleeeeeee-ase do it for meeeeeeeee. I don’t wanna go to jaaaaaaaa-il with all of those, you know…. those people…..”

“Okay, David! I will. But I’m bringing home a new Coach purse! No, two new Coach purses, and NBC is going to pay for them! Now get up off your knees and dust my law books!”

  14. Sentenza says:

I hope this guys words bite him back hard, every time that he tries to prosecute someone for breaking this law.

  15. So help me out here, why wouldn’t Heller v DC apply here?
And aren’t virtually all DC statutes unconstitutional anyway? DC City council has no constitutional standing whatsoever if what I’m reading in Sec 8 Para 17 is correct.

  16. akathesob says:

If it had been one of us we would not even had been given bail!
