Monday Open Thread – December 3rd

Tomb of the Unknown ChristmasOur Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.

For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

This is interesting, and from NBC?? Someone is achieving consciousness and smelling coffee?

This is also a warning, they claim, of what may happen across the Middle East. The era of the Muslim Brotherhood appears to have arrived. President Obama has hailed the Brotherhood’s President Mohammed Morsi as a pragmatist who helped end the Gaza crisis. Egyptians here think the Brotherhood has conned Washington, just like it conned them…..

….Morsi last night apologized for the power grab and said he didn’t want the extra authorities, but that they were necessary for the good of the people and to safeguard the revolution. Dictators always say stuff like that. Burn down the village to save it.

At first Egyptians were shocked that Morsi would make such an obvious and, according to Egyptian judges, blatantly illegal move. It’s clear now, as some analysts have long feared, that the brotherhood is making sure it doesn’t lose power again by taking control of Egypt’s constitution. The Brotherhood wants to write the rules of the game. Now they’ve done that too.

A strike at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach entered its fourth day on Friday despite efforts to end the walkout that has idled most of the nation’s busiest cargo complex.

NOTE: This strike is brought by less than 600 clerical workers–shutting down the SoCal ports. Isn’t that special?

Seriously, the clerical workers make at least four times what the average worker makes, and even twice as much as a Chicago public school teacher. Yet they’re striking, even though (here comes Fact Number 2) “Shippers … have offered lifelong job security to the 600 or so full-time clerical workers … (and) also have offered to boost average annual pay from $165,000 to $195,000 and grant 11 weeks of paid vacation.”

Readers who understand the union-favoring, far-left orientation of the press, especially that of the Associated Press, understand perfectly why these fun facts have failed to make their way into the vast majority of establishment press stories.<

Social Security. Looks like they will keep the reduced contribution going. I am wondering about it. i think the payback is based on the last 5 years of a persons contribution. If they keep the reduction up for 5 years then people age 60 now will get a much lower return.

I turned the channel. I refuse to listen to BS. He could have just as easily beat her to death with a ball bat and sliced his throat.

        • cajunkelly says:

Or shot her with a compound bow…as was the case at the college last week, where the son killed his dad’s girlfriend, then went into professor dad’s classroom and shot dad in the head with the compound bow, then stabbed him repeatedly, then stabbed himself to death.

        • WeeWeed says:

Rush said he shot her 9 times. 9!

(Sorry I don’t know how to embed pictures)

I think its funny when people kill people with guns they blame guns…but when it has to do with something like…oh say hands everyone forgets about it. I have watched Pro Wrestling for 13 years…I know its stupid but its a long story I wont get into…a few years back…I think it was 2007 Chris Benoit A pro wrestler who had some major issues went beserk and strangled his 7 year old son and then his wife who he bound…then hung himself with a rope…yeah but guns made him do that. >>. Anyway WWE that monday night canceled their show and put on a tribute for him…till they found out what he actually did…then they never said his name again…I bet if he had shot them instead we would still be hearing about it and hear references to it…Most people I mention this too don’t even know it happened…maybe because he was a wrestler and not a a football player…but still…he killed his 7 year old and his wife WITH NOTHING MORE THAN HIS HANDS!

          Ok sorry about the rant…

    • cajunkelly says:

I saw a tiny article about this last week…NO mention of it being an iraqi and NO mention of an IED. Just said a small explosing at the rear door of the office with little to no damage.

HahaHa take that hollyweird, let’s hope it’s a trend and the general public sits home spending time with loved ones this holiday season rather than spend money to promote the left with their petty lifestyle and mindset

  15. ctdar says:

I like Susana Martinez, Gov NM. She just spoke with Greta about the deficit she inherited from Richardson (was told 2 day before election was 250 Million, day after learns it really was 450 Million). She told Greta how she attacked the deficit & grew a surplus by doing among things such as:
    cut/cap employee salaries
Sold jets, incl Richardson personal one
No major expenses for employeesΒ such as new compsny cars
Got rid of all Richardson extras..2 chefs, etc
cut back on exempt employees with Appointments went from over 330 to just over 200

Martinez is no nonsense and got things DONE!
