I stumbled upon this late in the evening yesterday, and I wanted to make sure it got here in the morning. It’s a very interesting article in light of this case– especially since the FBI was called in. It discusses handguns and wounds. Fascinating!

Very amusing. This study was part of the panic at the FBI that resulted from their agents getting their asses kicked in the infamous Miami Firefight. Rather than acknowledge the idiotic “tactics” and SNAFUs that led to the engagement, the FBI blamed the debacle on the “failure” of a bullet that came within an inch of inflicting a lethal and promptly incapacitating wound.

This study is dated because the design of hollow point ammo has evolved to the point that adequate penetration and effective projectile expansion are reliably achieved. Even the cheap, “low quality” S&B ammo that GZ had performed perfectly, achieving near optimum penetration, excellent expansion and even fragmentation. GZ’s shot placement was near perfect. If it had been me I would have pumped few more rounds into him, but if it had been me TM would have been the one getting his ass kicked.

Someone should forward this to the Leatherface Blog so he can read the second tonthe last paragraph that rebuts his claim that TM was instantly incapacitated. I still want to test his latest “stiff neck” theory using his skull as attest subject. May be Ill meet him in a dark alley someday?

      • I wouldn’t recommend using JHP ammo during winter months because the multiple layers of clothing tend to clog the hollow point with fibers which cause the bullet to perform similar to FMJ/ball ammo. I’d recommend switching to JHP ballistic tip ammo such as Hornady Critical Defense aka Zombie Max or an equivalent

        • Knuckledraggingwino says:

Smith & Wesson CS-45 takes care of that problem. 45 ACP incapacitated reliably even with FMJ. Then again, 10 mm is even better and .50 AE is just awesome.

  3. Kind of slow here at the Treehouse but an interesting discussion at the Orlando Sentinel.

“Trayvon wasn’t in some wild dash to watch a game that wouldn’t start for 15 minutes.

He was a scared boy talking to his young friend on the phone, and neither of them knew what to do about the grown adult lurking around in other people’s back yards with a loaded gun who had been chasing Trayvon.

When Zimmerman was pacing around the ‘T,’ Trayvon was hiding somewhere. Zimmerman says it was in some bushes which don’t exist. Wherever he was hiding, it’s better to hide than lead a ‘creepy and crazy’ stalker to your family.”

“Wherever he was hiding, it’s better to hide than lead a ‘creepy and crazy’ stalker to your family.”

Nice theory, except Trayvon knew that nobody was home. Hence Trayvon must have feared leading a crazy creepy stalker to an empty townhouse.

    • James F says:

Zimmerman stated he lost sight, after Martin headed south. DeeDee confirms that Martin said he lost him at that point. Martin had no reason to fear “leading a ‘creepy and crazy’ stalker” when he did not even believe he was being followed any longer. And of course

Martin never expressed any fear of “leading a ‘creepy and crazy’ stalker home.” It is baseless speculation that will never be allowed in court.

The chasing stuff still baffles me. They make it sound like hide and seek. How long would that game take?

They will prolly drop it on Christmas Eve. Just as we get our Christmas “package” from the Republicrat federal guvmint! When they start talking “package,” run for the hills.

  5. James F says:

The nutty ‘professor’ finally realized the petition to “Investigate George Zimmerman for Civil Rights violation in his killing of Trayvon Martin” is pointless and in effect, admitted the drafter and signees are ignorant of even basic U.S. federal law.

But then the sneaky bastard changed the title of his previous article where he endorsed the ignorant petition to “Investigate George Zimmerman for Civil Rights violation in his killing of Trayvon Martin”. He changed it to “Zimmerman: Please Sign and Support the Petition Asking President Obama to Order a Federal Investigation and Prosecution of George Zimmerman for Committing a Hate Crime.”

Sorry, morons. there is no “Petition Asking President Obama to Order a Federal Investigation and Prosecution of George Zimmerman for Committing a Hate Crime.” You can’t just change the petition content like your own stupid blog titles.

  6. david says:

Great news! Our petition for a federal investigation into the violation of George ZImmerman’s civil rights has already doubled in signatures and still going strong since it was made public on the White House website last night! Thank you for your amazing support and lets keep up the good fight!
