Will you two please knock it off with the explanations when attacked by Romney and instead go on offense. It is getting really annoying to watch, and given the shere distaste I have for it from over a year of watching Boehner and McConnell stuck in the same insufferable position; I’m in no mood to watch you guys let Romney paint you into a corner. AGAIN and AGAIN.

Ricky, when Mittens starts bustin’ your chops about voting to raise the debt ceiling, will you please remind people that when REAL conservatives were in the fight last summer he chose to join the “Mittness protection program” and test the direction of the prevailing winds from inside his bunker.

Will you please remind people that when the TEA PARTY conservative patriots of the freshman class were being labeled “extremists”, “terrorists”, “out of touch”, and then “Childish Hobbits”, just because they wanted deficit reduction, Mittens was nowhere to be found.   His silence was deafening.

And speaking of calling us Hobbits….   That specific phrase was stated on the senate floor by the very senior senator from this state of Arizona, John McCain;  You know the Lord of the Tarp, who happens to endorse YOU.   Yeah, that’s right.   The fiscally prudent tea party patriots were being ridiculed by the same guy you stand arm in arm with on stage and accept his endorsement.

Ricky, you need to smack Romney in the face and kick his a$$.   Like when Sarah Palin, Jim DeMint, Ron Johnson, Mike Lee, Rand Paul, Paul Ryan, and REAL conservatives were being attacked by both sides of the ruling class aisle Mittens was no-where to be found in their defense.    Yet you allow him to hypocritically call you out for something you did in 2006?    While his advocates like Lisa Murkowski and  John McCain were cutting them off at the knees for just trying to advance fiscal common sense.

The outcome of which was a first ever down grading of our bond rating, because of the insufferable short-sighted stupidity of the ruling class who you now support.

Gee, Mitt, you wonder why people don’t trust you.  You wonder why people are not comfortable with your wishy-washy wind testing views of conservatism.   Well you just did a fine job showing God and this audience why those questions are well founded.

Please, for the love of Christ, will you just stand up to these idiots.?

(via opposing views) The Pennsylvania State Director of American Atheists, Inc., Mr. Ernest Perce V., was assaulted by a Muslim while participating in a Halloween parade. Along with a Zombie Pope, Ernest was costumed as Zombie Muhammad. The assault was caught on video, the Muslim man admitted to his crime and charges were filed in what should have been an open-and-shut case. That’s not what happened, though.

The defendant is an immigrant and claims he did not know his actions were illegal, or that it was legal in this country to represent Muhammad in any form. To add insult to injury, he also testified that his 9 year old son was present, and the man said he felt he needed to show his young son that he was willing to fight for his Prophet.

The case went to trial, and as circumstances would dictate, Judge Mark Martin is also a Muslim. What transpired next was surreal. The Judge not only ruled in favor of the defendant, but called Mr. Perce a name and told him that if he were in a Muslim country, he’d be put to death. Judge Martin’s comments included,

“Having had the benefit of having spent over 2 and a half years in predominantly Muslim countries I think I know a little bit about the faith of Islam. In fact I have a copy of the Koran here and I challenge you sir to show me where it says in the Koran that Mohammad arose and walked among the dead. I think you misinterpreted things. Before you start mocking someone else’s religion you may want to find out a little bit more about it it makes you look like a dufus and Mr. (Defendant) is correct. In many Arabic speaking countries something like this is definitely against the law there. In their society in fact it can be punishable by death and it frequently is in their society.

Judge Martin then offered a lesson in Islam, stating,

“Islam is not just a religion, it’s their culture, their culture. It’s their very essence their very being. They pray five times a day towards Mecca to be a good Muslim, before you die you have to make a pilgrimage to Mecca unless you are otherwise told you can not because you are too ill too elderly, whatever but you must make the attempt. Their greetings wa-laikum as-Salâm (is answered by voice) may god be with you. Whenever, it’s very common when speaking to each other it’s very common for them to say uh this will happen it’s it they are so immersed in it.

Judge Martin further complicates the issue by not only abrogating the First Amendment, but completely misunderstanding it when he said,

“Then what you have done is you have completely trashed their essence, their being. They find it very very very offensive. I’m a Muslim, I find it offensive. But you have that right, but you’re way outside your boundaries or first amendment rights. This is what, and I said I spent about 7 and a half years living in other countries. when we go to other countries it’s not uncommon for people to refer to us as ugly Americans this is why we are referred to as ugly Americans, because we are so concerned about our own rights we don’t care about other people’s rights as long as we get our say but we don’t care about the other people’s say”

Ron Paul… Get this, now: Ron Paul is not really competing in Michigan, but he’s running anti-Santorum ads in Michigan. Even though Ron Paul is not viable in Michigan, he’s still running anti-Santorum ads. But Newt pulling out is gonna coalesce support to Santorum, and Paul pulling out… See, I don’t know. The thing that’s interesting to me about the Paul-Romney alliance is I don’t know how the Ron Paul camp is gonna feel about that.

If this allianceis actually a purposeful strategically assembled alliance and if it has an electoral purpose here to benefit Romney, I don’t know how Ron Paul’s crowd is gonna react to that. They may love it. I don’t know how Ron Paul supporters feel about Romney. I don’t know if Romney’s their second choice or not. If they don’t like it, and if they figure out there’s this alliance, who knows? But this is gonna increase Santorum’s odds in Michigan with Gingrich putting no effort forward there. Now, I don’t think Gingrich is doing this to benefit Santorum, per se. I think Newt still wants to win this himself.

He’s positioning himself so that a poor finish cannot be talked up to a poor finish following a full-fledged, all-out effort to win. If you don’t make a big effort, if you make no effort at all in state and you don’t do well, “Well, it’s not unexpected that you wouldn’t do well.” So Michigan and Arizona are next Tuesday, and we shall see. But I thought Newt, with no pressure on him, hit Obama better than anybody did last night. (read more)

He reassured Latinos that he is committed to passing a comprehensive immigration reform plan, blaming the lack of progress on what he describes as an intransigent Congress and a Republican Party that has adopted extreme views on the issue.

“Piolin, I would only have broken my promise if I hadn’t tried. But ultimately, I’m one man,” he said when asked if he broke his promise. “You know, we live in a democracy. We don’t live in a monarchy. I’m not the king. I’m the president. And so, I can only implement those laws that are passed through Congress.”

Obama expressed confidence he would win reelection and attempt to pass immigration reform again in a second term.

“My presidency is not over, I’ve got another five years coming up. We’re going to get this done,” he said.  (more)

Nancy Pelosi in 2012

“Wall Street profiteering, not oil shortages, is the cause of the price spike,” Pelosi said in a statement. “Unfortunately, Republicans have chosen to protect the interests of Wall Street speculators and oil companies instead of the interests of working Americans by obstructing the agencies with the responsibility of enforcing consumer protection laws.”

The comments — arriving a day before President Obama is scheduled to address the issue of rising gas prices in Miami — represent just the latest shot in the perennial debate over the cause of price fluctuations in the oil and gasoline markets.

Regular gasoline prices are averaging $3.58 per gallon and have risen almost 20 cents in the last month, according to AAA.

The Alamo Siege

February 23, 1836:

General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna reaches San Antonio with a large body of his troops, mostly cavalry. Much of his assault infantry, engineer troops and siege artillery are strung out along the road back to the Rio Grande. Of these, many of his native troops, lightly dressed for the warmth of Mexico, have suffered in a late and particularly harsh winter storm along their hasty, forced march towards the rebellious province of Tejas.

Correctly assessing the situation, Col. William B. Travis sees this as the beginning of the Mexican investiture of the fortified Alamo mission and its grounds. He sends a dispatch to the town of Gonzales seeking assistance:

The Alamo Mission, Convent and Environs

“To any of the inhabitants of Texas. The enemy in large force is in sight. We want men and provisions. Send them to us. We have 150 men and are determined to defend the Alamo to the last. Give us assistance.”

Travis and Col. James “Jim” Bowie also send a dispatch to Col. Fannin in Goliad. It reads:

“We have removed all our men into the Alamo, where we will make such resistance as is due to our honour, and that of the country, until we can get assistance from you, which we expect you to forward immediately. In this extremity, we hope you will send us all the men you can spare promptly. We have one hundred and forty-six men, who are determined never to retreat. We have but little provisions, but enough to serve us till you and your men arrive. We deem it unnecessary to repeat to a brave officer, who knows his duty, that we call on him for assistance.”

Santa Anna orders the red flag of “no quarter” flown from the San Fernando church, in clear view of the Alamo defenders. A regimental band begins to play the the ancient, haunting Deguello dirge. Travis fires his 18-pound cannon in exuberant, if futile, response.

With the morrow far from certain, the first long, dark, restless night of the Alamo siege begins…

Ron Paul has attacked every candidate except Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney has SERIOUSLY attacked every candidate with vicious, almost rabid, scorched earth hatred except Ron Paul.   Ron Paul’s wife is very close friends with Ann Romney, and the Pauls’ have stayed at the homes of the Romneys’ during their campaigns.

When you look at their strategy implementation they each attack the opposition simultaneously. First Rick Perry, then Herman Cain, then Newt Gingrich and most recently Rick Santorum. The only one not attacked was Michele Bachmann who, not coincidently, was doing the previous debate attack work for Romney toward Rick Perry, Santorum, and Gingrich. As soon as Michele Bachmann left the race Ron Paul took over the Job of attacking anyone but Romney.

So what would Romney have to gain from this? Oh, A WHOLE BUNCH. A HUGE BUNCH. First he obviously benefits from the diminishing of the other candidates. Second, attacks from people other than him afford him a certain anonymity now that people are aware of his hateful ‘destroy at all costs’ disposition. But most importantly you can see the benefit from a convention where the size of Ron Paul’s delegates, if thrown to Romney, would instantaneously insure him of the nomination. It would be certain.

If Ron Paul endorses Mitt, either at the convention with his delegates, or before with his support, it essentially delivers the nomination victory to Mittens.

There has been something obvious about their relationship as noted above, but there was always something I personally could not quite put my finger on.   The fact that Romney might give Rand Paul the VP spot in exchange for Ron Paul’s support totally makes sense and certainly explains a lot.   Here are two recent articles pointing in this general direction:

“Two Middle Eastern men” on a Continental flight from Portland to Houston. “He was screaming, ‘Allah is great, Allah is great,’ you know, and it kinda worries you when all of that happens…” says a passenger on the flight in the video above. The KHOU story doesn’t mention this, and says the flight turned around and landed back in Portland because one of them wouldn’t obey the “No Smoking” sign.

Tonight on CNN the GOP candidates will have their final “scheduled” debate.   This will be the last debate prior to Super Tuesday and much is at stake for all of them.  CNN’s John King is once again moderating the debate and it will be interesting to see how he frames the narrative.  The last debate King moderated led to a significant confrontation between him and Newt Gingrich.

Romney and Santorum are battling for front-runner status and depending on what poll you see on any given day they are in a heated battle for Michigan and Arizona. 

Will John King go after Santorum for his social conservatism positions?  Will the media just focus on abortion, contraception, gay marriage etc.

He can claim in 2008 that we are in the middle of the worst financial crisis since the great depression, then claim he didn’t know how significant the financial crisis was in 2012.  He can call President Bush unpatriotic for requesting a raising of the debt ceiling in 2007, then demand that not raising the debt ceiling is dangerous in 2011.   He can oversee the first ever downgrade of the United States bond rating, yet claim no responsibility for deepening American debt.

He can proclaim his promise to cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term, then demand the largest increase in structural deficits ever.  

So why would he take responsibility for instituting illegal drilling moratoriums and bans in the gulf, along with revoked leases for oil exploration, and eliminating the keystone pipeline project, and accept responsibility for increasing costs gasoline? 

Silly sheeples.
