This shooting is going to capture a LOT of attention.

There was a police shooting in Bexar Texas, a suburb of San Antonio, involving two police officers during a domestic disturbance call. The official version of the shooting is described by the Bexar County Sheriff’s office PIO Susan Pamerleau.
IMPORTANT – Watch the CNN affiliate KSAT report before proceeding:

What Pamerleau describes in that press statement segment is NOT what is shown in the video.
The video Officer Pamerleau describes is linked HEREWARNING it is disturbing– and shows the actual moment the 41-year-old suspect, Gilbert Flores, was shot outside a home in the 24400 block of Walnut Pass.
Bad Shoot

VIDEO HERE

The video shows Gilbert Flores CLEARLY SURRENDERING with his hands CLEARLY EVIDENT in a non-threatening manner. The video also shows deputies Greg Vasquez and Robert Sanchez did not even attempt to render aid after shooting Mr. Flores.
This most certainly does not appear to be a justified use of deadly force.  In addition, no-where in this video is any other method of “non lethal weapons” visible as claimed by the officers and the police Public Relations office.
According to the most recent reporting Officer Vasquez and Officer Sanchez are now on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

Earlier Report – […]  The Sheriff’s Office said the deputies found a woman with a cut to her head. The woman was holding a baby, who also appeared to have been injured.

The deputies attempted to arrest Flores, who, the Sheriff’s Office said, was armed, but he resisted. The deputies attempted to use non-lethal weapons to detain Flores, officials said, but were unsuccessful. The deputies then fired the fatal shots. Flores died a short time later.

Two separate video recordings of the shooting were made by witnesses and are being reviewed by investigators from the Sheriff’s Office and the District Attorney’s office.

“Definitely, the video is troubling,” District Attorney Nicholas “Nico” LaHood said after reviewing the recordings.

One of those recordings, provided by a witness, was aired on KSAT 12 News.

“There’s actually another video with a better view that is very close,” LaHood said.

He would not comment on the videos other to confirm that he has seen them.

“That is a portion of the investigation that I am not at liberty to speak about,” he said. “There’s a lot of information before, including 911 calls and information from different witnesses inside the house.”

“This is a very unique situation where we actually have the shooting on video,” LaHood said. “That gives us a whole different perspective that we’ve never had before.”  (link)
