Perhaps it’s just my cynical nature when it comes to the Obama Administration having researched their Machiavellian tendencies over the past six years. – However, someone, someone inside, someone very close to President Obama, has just set him up for a crow eating dinner.
This is no accident, mistake or ideological oversight.  Parts of this are a set-up.
blame bushPresident Obama supposedly penned an Op-Ed today through the LA Times. But I doubt seriously, having read the limited attributable writing of Barack Obama personally, it was actually the brain synapses of President Obama who constructed the literary words.
Obama does not write well, nor does he express his own opinions in writing well – his op-eds while attending Harvard affirm my opinion.
That said, whoever did write this on his behalf set him up for a massive fall. Within the first few paragraphs of the article itself you find this seemingly innocuous admission. Innocuous until you realize the scope of the inferred reversal:

LA TIMES – The United States has made significant gains against terrorism. We’ve decimated the core al Qaeda leadership, strengthened homeland security and worked to prevent another large-scale attack like 9/11..
At the same time, the threat has evolved. The al Qaeda affiliate in Yemen actively plots against us. Since 9/11, terrorists have murdered U.S. citizens overseas, including in the attacks in Benghazi, Libya. Here in the United States, Americans have been killed at Ft. Hood and during the Boston Marathon.

Setting aside the claim of “decimated the core al Qaeda leadership” for a moment did you catch the second paragraph.
Terrorists have murdered U.S. citizens” […] “Americans … killed at Fort Hood and during the Boston Marathon“? Yes, that is President Obama, or the person writing on his behalf, reversing a 5 year position that Fort Hood was “workplace violence”.
How, are the professional WH spin masters going to explain that little nugget away?
His ghostwriter goes on to say:

[…] In Syria and Iraq, the terrorist group we call ISIL has slaughtered innocent civilians and murdered hostages, including Americans, and has spread its barbarism to Libya with the murder of Egyptian Christians. In recent months, we’ve seen deadly attacks in Ottawa, Sydney, Paris and Copenhagen.

An admission of the Coptic Christians in Libya? Again, that’s not the McDonough, Rhodes, ValJar, Blinkin, narrative. Or are they -now facing outright laughter and ridicule- trying to reverse position?

[…] In the face of this challenge, we must stand united internationally and here at home. We know that military force alone cannot solve this problem. Nor can we simply take out terrorists who kill innocent civilians.

This part is definitely back on approved script. How exactly do we know that military force cannot solve the problem? The Obama administration has never actually tried to put the full weight of the U.S. military into destroying terrorism.
And yes, it is entirely possible to take out terrorists who kill civilians.

[…] More broadly, groups like al Qaeda and ISIL exploit the anger that festers when people feel that injustice and corruption leave them with no chance of improving their lives. The world has to offer today’s youth something better.
Governments that deny human rights play into the hands of extremists who claim that violence is the only way to achieve change. Efforts to counter violent extremism will only succeed if citizens can address legitimate grievances through the democratic process and express themselves through strong civil societies. Those efforts must be matched by economic, educational and entrepreneurial development so people have hope for a life of dignity.

Approved SECTION – Whiskey Tango Foxtrot – Now the demands of militant Islamists are defined as “legitimate grievances”? Seriously – the demand for Sharia Law, the subjugation of women, the killing of gays and lesbians, the stoning to death for adultery, these demands for judicial  imposition are “legitimate grievances“?

[…] Our campaign to prevent people around the world from being radicalized to violence is ultimately a battle for hearts and minds. With this week’s summit, we’ll show once more that — unlike terrorists who only offer misery and death — it is our free societies and diverse communities that offer the true path to opportunity, justice and dignity.

Hearts and Minds” vs “misery and death“…. wait, just–a– minute,.. I think I’ve identified the author at least for some of this.
The parts where Terrorism is actually identified; the part where the Fort Hood shooting was actually the work of a terrorist; the part where the Libyans are actually Christian; the strategy for justice and righteousness; those parts, those very specific parts, are all from:
George Bush Cowboy Hat
Oh, you can be damned sure Obama didn’t write any of this because it’s actually readable…
…But you can be especially certain he never wrote those parts which present the crow on a platter.
