You might remember the case of Dustin Friedland, 30, and his wife Jamie, 27, who were Christmas shopping when Mr. Friedland was shot in the head in front of his wife in the parking garage of The Mall at Short Hills.

The public figured it out, and eventually they caught the suspects.

NEWARK — Four men have been indicted on charges of killing a Hoboken attorney during a carjacking in December at The Mall at Short Hills, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray announced today.

Basim Henry, 33, of South Orange, Hanif Thompson, 29, of Irvington, and Karif Ford, 32, and Kevin Roberts, 35, both of Newark, were indicted in connection with the Dec. 15, 2013 murder of 30-year-old Dustin Friedland, prosecutors said.
The fatal shooting occurred when the four men carjacked Friedland as he and his wife entered their Range Rover on an upper level parking deck at the upscale mall in the Short Hills section of Millburn, prosecutors said.
The four defendants were indicted on six counts, including murder, felony murder, carjacking, conspiracy and weapons offenses, prosecutors said. They are scheduled to be arraigned on the charges on Oct. 14 before Superior Court Judge Ronald Wigler.
They remain in custody at the Essex County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2 million bail each. (read more)
