I had a very strong feeling over the weekend, as I watched the eyes of the political opportunists light up, that #BringBackOurGirls was going to be another re-run of #KonySurrender.

However, even in the depths of my cynical inclinations I did not expect to see THIS:

Michelle Obama tweet

In order to truly understand the Supernova Level of Irony, and jaw-dropping hypocrisy, you must fully understand the back story to Boko Haram and how one man and three women directly contributed to this crisis of abduction in Nigeria.

The man is Michelle Obama’s husband, President Obama.   The three women are Hillary Clinton, Susan Rice and Samantha Power.

You can’t find a larger Irony than 234 abducted Nigerian school girls torn from their family by a group using weapons facilitated by a short-sighted Obama/Clinton policy in Libya.

The weapons being used by Boko Haram came directly from the Libyan arms caches as a result of Obama-Clinton-Power-Rice strategy hidden in an innocuous sounding R2P Policy.

R2P is shorthand for “Responsibility to Protect”.

Samantha Power - Susan Rice - President Obama

In Libya, in 2011, R2P was applied to use U.S. airpower to defend Benghazi, and destroy Kaddaffi tanks and artillery.    The U.S. and NATO won the civil war on behalf of the “rebels”.

The “rebels” we now know were various al-Qaeda factions including Ansar al-Sharia who later killed Ambassador Stevens, Sean Smith, Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty.   The same “rebels” opened up all of the warehouses of Kaddaffi weapons and Boko Haram was one of the primary beneficiaries.    All of AQIM flocked to Libya to pick up weapons.

The Northern African nation of Chad’s President Deby sent the warnings as it was happening……  but NO-ONE in the Western Media was paying attention.

From Truth Revolt the following aspect which also rings loudly:

[…]  This is another example of the self-indulgent culture of the left, concerned primarily with gestures. Like President Obama suggesting that Putin would cave before the condemnation and peer pressure of being on the “wrong side of history.” It is a culture that believes everyone craves approval from the cool kids. Take, for example, how celebrities are “raising awareness” over the missing girls.

Nothing says stop selling people into slavery like Ashton Kutcher’s disapproving tweet. Boko Haram must be sending frowny face emojis like crazy.

President Obama yesterday promised to send a team to Nigeria to try and help secure the rescue of the kidnapped girls. That is policy. Tweeting for what we want is no substitute for real talk, and real action. For someone in a position of power, it’s pretty far on the silly side.

Not strong. Not grave. Not serious. Stern face smiley.
