collections2Let’s do it!  Here’s the comment:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yes Sharon thank you for these threads that revive memories of times with my grandparents – and stories my mom or dad would tell.
Your part of the country was slightly different, but so many other daily or special occasion events are very similar.
Don’t know if this might have come up before, but I am fascinated by collections of all kinds, and would love to see/hear collections5 how they all came about.
Maybe a special thread one day?
I used to collect “sea glass,” the broken pieces of glass washed up on the beach. These pieces were various colors, all smoothed down to a satiny finish from being tumbled through the coarse sand by Atlantic surf.
Great idea, Firstab — and this is the perfect day to do it, as summertime fun is coming to a close for this year.
collections3Summertime collections, childhood collections, or a collection that you’ve just started working on: what do you collect? And why — what does the collection represent to you, if you care to share?
You’re so right — while the areas of the country we lived in vary greatly, there are those common threads. That’s what MBOB is all about — the common American experience. I believe it’s still within us. It’s not just a box for memories, although it is that.
Here’s one sample of sea glass I found—is this close, Firstab?  There are so many beautiful collections!
