About Patriot Dreamer

“When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion – when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing – when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors – when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but protect them against you – when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice – you may know that your society is doomed.” ~Ayn Rand *************************************************** In the battle between good intentions vs. unintended consequences….UC always win. ~Sharon

I know you weren’t the one to make it, but wouldn’t it make more sense for the first one to read “slavery is freedom”? To have ‘freedom’ on the side with ‘spending’ and ‘ignorance’ doesn’t sit well with me.

I’m not sure who made it, but you’re right. It would make more sense to have it on the other side. I think the person who made it was matching up the “S”s or something.

That’s good!!! I love it!!! Just finished reading 1984 about a month ago. Amazing how much from that novel we are living. When I read it back in high-school… I thought it was science fiction – it could never happen here!

How long ago was high school for you? I don’t recall reading that book (read partway through ‘The Great Gatsby’, then the class read through ‘The Good Earth’) and I graduated in ’07.

Makes me think that a bumper sticker with the Obama trademark “O” replacing the standard letter ‘O’ spelling out Orwell might be appropriate
