Thursday Open Thread – January 24th

Tomb of the Unknown ChristmasOur Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.

For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

At the risk of sounding like a total douche, we have had troops captured, and now with women in the battlefield, I sense rape from muzzies in the future; and if God forbid that ever happens, the libs who celebrate this “victory for gender equality” will shrug it off and put down the army as a whole (again), some prolly suggesting that they deserved it, and some wishing to have done it themselves. Cynical or practical, what am I?

      • Josh says:

Practical. This is another effort of theirs to woosify our military. Women, you want to be on the front line? Go for it but don’t whine when you get a boo-boo or when the boys don’t stop everything to help you because you’ve stumbled. You want to be one of the boys? Go ahead and try but do not expect any special consideration.

    • Sharon says:

There is no right to SS, as the linked article points out, and there never has been. And even if there were a legal right, with things being run the way they are now, that wouldn’t matter a bit.

It’s kind of fun to note (perhaps this article includes this bit as well–didn’t read it because I think it’s the same as I just saw at another site) that they are now flat calling SS welfare. I’ve always known there was no legal right to it, but I sorta don’t care for being considered a welfare case. Oh, well, with medicare going the way it is (we didn’t have any choice about that either–either then or now) they can just kill us off whenever they actually do decide to balance the books.

I think I’ll just go eat worms. (or be eaten by worms)

Looks like the biggest sports expo on the East Coast really stepped in it. Over 170 major vendors and celebrities have pulled out and good for them. If they can’t support the Second Amendment, they literally don’t know how their bread is buttered.

The boycotts are a result of the announcement by show organizer Reed Exhibitions that so-called assault rifles and high-capacity magazines will not be allowed to be displayed or sold at the show this year.

…then there’s a very…..long……list of the exhibitors who backed out.

DHS is defunding the TARS program on the southern borders. The scenario that scares me is what will be coming across the borders, the OTM (other than Mexicans). If we start having frequent “issues” taking place people will be screaming for help. Odummy then rolls in the tanks, declares martial law (for our own safety, of course), and once they are here they are here to stay. If Texas falls, so goes the nation.

It is said that trends start in California and sweep across the nation.

“As a physician with more than 30 years of experience, I find the ability of this board to intervene in the patient-doctor relationship particularly troubling,” he said.”

“The IPAB, also called a “death panel,” will have the power to authorize or unauthorize Medicare payments for medical procedures regardless of doctor recommendations. The board is made up of 15 members, paid more than $165,000 per year, appointed by the president and confirmed by the Senate.”

“The bill is a break in the GOP strategy used in the last Congress.”

“Roe’s bill, House Resolution 351, or the “Protecting Seniors’ Access to Medicare Act,” would strike the IPAB completely. “I believe my bill is a testament to the fact that members of Congress can put party politics aside, come together and do what’s right for our seniors.”

“The current bill has 83 co-sponsors from both parties.”

“[Paul] Ryan said one problem with the panel was that its members’ decisions were not approved by Congress, rather it was up to Congress to disapprove its decisions by super-majorities.”

“The House Budget Committee chairman said another problem was that there was no requirement for the 15 board members to have medical training.”

“Rep. Allyson Y. Schwartz (D-Pa.), the lead Democratic co-sponsor of the bill said, “I am proud to come together with Congressman Roe today to introduce the Protecting Seniors’ Access to Medicare Act.”

“History has taught us that blunt instruments aimed at simply reducing costs are not the best solution,” she said.”

Do you notice the Alinsky techniques being used by the anti-gun wacko’s? Rules 5 and 12 just slip in there smooth as a baby’s butt.

RULE 5: “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.” There is no defense. It’s irrational. It’s infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions.

RULE 12: “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.

Best Ever Layoff Letter (Not sure if it’s true but it’s good)

    Dear Employees:
As the CEO of this organization, I have resigned myself to the fact that Barrack Obama is our President and that our taxes and government fees will increase in a BIG way. To compensate for these in…creases, our prices would have to increase by about 10%.
But, since we cannot increase our prices right now due to the dismal state of the economy, we will have to lay off sixty of our employees instead. This has really been bothering me since I believe we are family here and I didn’t know how to choose who would have to go.
So, this is what I did. I walked through our parking lots and found sixty ‘Obama’ bumper stickers on our employees’ cars and have decided these folks will be the ones to let go. I can’t think of a more fair way to approach this problem. They voted for change……I gave it to them.
I will see the rest of you at the annual company picnic.

Did anyone catch the leaked gun control wish list in NY?

…but if Republican Assemblyman Steve McLaughlin is to be believed, the New York State Democrats would have gone further if they could have. Much, much further. In a video posted to his Facebook page, McLaughlin has shared the information of a ‘secret’ Democrat proposal not simply to make the purchasing of the crudely monikered ‘assault weapons’ illegal in New York, but also to engage in a mass confiscation programme, removing Americans’ weapons from their possession.

    America: Freedom to Fascism

    Posted by “Kansas Bright”:
This stuff you say never happened – you are incorrect. You have heard of Obamacare? Did you bother to read it? In the first draft all who were under Obama’s “healthcare bill” were to be microchipped “to make it safer for the people who had emergencies happen and their entire health history would be immediately available to the emergency team”. Of course there were to be other stuff put on them.

“We the people” fought, and Ron Paul led the way, and the microchipping (at least on paper) was taken out of it. RealID is still there, it was postponed because so many of us fought against it (comes up again soon – I am sure that will not be made public knowledge so watch all the bills coming out).

So YOU, and others owe Ron Paul a Thank You for standing up for America and the US Constitution. He is against RealID also.

    • Sharon says:

“We don’t want to create barriers for people to get health care coverage,” said California state Assemblyman Richard Pan, who is working on a law in his state that would limit insurers’ ability to charge smokers more. The federal law allows states to limit or change the smoking penalty.

“We want people who are smoking to get smoking cessation treatment,” added Pan, a pediatrician who represents the Sacramento area.

Ah! So, IOW, it’s ok if you smoke, but we won’t sell you insurance unless you agree to turn control of your personal choices over to us: otherwise known as–smoking is now considered a personality disorder which must be corrected by the state.

Nothing evil about you, Tex. There’s a whole bunch of evil drippin’ off these regulatory bacteria.

I’m sure that I will likely have some health issues down the road from my sinnin’, but as of today I take NO prescription meds for anything. No cholestrol, BP, diabetes, COPD. Nothing. Our company is probably 60-70% female and I’d wager that a whole bunch of them, a lot younger than I are spending a lot more on insurance claims for their donut-eatin’ and such. Well, it pretty much matches what the SM described from combat in the jungle as well. Most female Marines, especially the ones that are pissed off that they can’t be assigned to a combat unit lose that motivation pretty quick after TBS, especially the two week war. And that’s the “play war”.

They are such complete idiots, ytz. Find more articles like that and bring ‘em on. Women who have a normal sense of dignity, both about themselves and the men in their lives, would never want either gender put in a co-ed battle situation trying to deal with reality.

Ok. I got a question here. Based on just the info line of this link, if you don’t feel like clicking through:

My question to Gov. Jindal would be this:

What are you telling us for??

You guys in the “leadership” and in “places of authority” are….uhhhhh……driving the boat……’re the ones who keep driving into the trees……’re the ones who just got their 250th Governing While Stooooopid Ticket. So….I ask again….Gov,

What are you telling us for????????????????????

Hate to be the one to break it to you, but your tweet audience is probably not the problem??????
