Not exactly a phenomenon limited to the US. England is looking for stones to squeeze extra taxes out of so they’ve decided to look at a wealth tax. The Brits wouldn’t be taxed on income alone but the entire value of their holdings. Their houses, cars, boats, all of those pesky little ‘luxury’ items they’ve bought with already taxed monies will be taxed again – yearly. Soon they’ll all be humming “I’ve Got a Brand New Leather Jacket…”. Witness the crushing burden of the all-consuming welfare state.
It’s inevitable, isn’t it?

I know everyone is asleep by now but what is she talking about when she says they agreed to a trillion dollars in spending cuts? There was no trillion dollar cut in spending, not even close.
As Dusty said, her lips are moving, so she must be lying.
She does not want to reach down to the middle class because that is where her union people are and where she gets her money and support is from the unions. To her the “rich” is the only answer and same for Obama for the same reason.
The funny thing is she will do it anyway and just tell the middle class she isn’t.
Did she actually believe tax provisions create growth? How does more taxes grow our economy as she states in this interview? Please point out where these trillion dollar cuts are. Are these cuts over the next ten years that they have served up as their great contribution to our spending isssue?
She thinks unemployment creates growth. I kid you not.
The sad thing is she will probably be speaker again!
