Prescient

Jude 1:18-19 When the last days come there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires. These are the men who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.

Jude 1:4 For certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.

2 Timothy 4:3-4 For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

2 Timothy 3:1-4 There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—having a form of godliness but denying its power.

Romans 1:18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness.

One of the advantages (or disadvantages, depending on how you look at it) of having been the daughter of a Baptist Preacher, is knowing the Bible pretty well. I have been digging into some of my dad’s old books for the past 10 years or so. As a child, I can remember my grandparents saying how many believed Hitler to be the Antichrist in the 40s. I clearly remember my Maw Maw telling me that the most important thing was to maintain my own right relationship with God. These Scriptures could absolutely fit with what is going on today. I always come back to where God says that a thousand years are as a day in His eyes. We are living in scary times.
