Thursday Open Thread – November 15th

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.

For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

  2. Looks as though another case of prosecutorial Misconduct will be making the rounds but this time criminal charges are a very real possibility, somebody should Email this to BDLR asap.

Texas Court of Inquiry to Examine Prosecutorial Misconduct.
A Texas Court of Inquiry is set to review allegations of prosecutorial misconduct by former District Attorney Kenneth Anderson, who withheld critical information in a first-degree murder case in Williamson County. Although prosecutorial misconduct has played a role in many wrongful convictions, including death penalty cases, such an oversight hearing is unusual. Sam Millsap, the former District Attorney of Bexar County, Texas, said, “I’d love to be able to tell you I am the only former elected prosecutor in the country who finds himself in the position of having to admit an error in judgment that may have led to the execution of an innocent man, but I know I am not.” If the Court finds that Anderson’s alleged misconduct rises to the level of a crime, the case may be referred to a grand jury. Anderson, who is now a Texas judge, presided over the prosecution of Michael Morton (pictured), who was convicted and sentenced to life for his wife’s murder in 1987. Evidence suggesting Morton’s innocence, including a bloody bandana found near the crime scene, was kept from the defense. DNA testing of the bandana led to Morton’s exoneration in 2011, and implicated another man who is also suspected of subsequently murdering another woman. Anderson’s successor as D.A., John Bradley, who fought against allowing DNA testing in Morton’s case, has said he now believes he was wrong, adding, “We shouldn’t set up barriers to the introduction of new evidence.”

His speaking style is tiresome and too intense for lengthy listening–but this is just weird: does he have a new set of facts to work with? If he does, where did he get them?

      Mornin’ Wee. It’s pre-Friday all!! :D

    • Josh says:

Even if “they” had remembered to tell us it would have not made any difference. Free stuff trumped in this election.

I stated that Romney McCain’d the debates. He had a LOT of ammunition and did not use it. Why not? All my conservative friends found some wisdom in his decision not to use the damning evidence against B. Hussein Obama. Look where we are now :-(

The good people of America are looking for a strong person to lead. At this time the only person that comes to mind for me is Allen West. The Republican Party however will not back him to truly lead (POTUS) because he is not one to tow the party line. Republicans are NOT conservatives. Allen West IS a conservative.

Me? Myself? I’d vote for Michele Bachmann or even Sarah Palin for president because they are strong people.

I reiterate, “The good people of America are looking for a strong person to lead” because they do not want to lead themselves. We are a bunch of followers!

Regardless of who is President it is incumbent upon the good people of America to get involved! By involved I mean more than voting and/or sending in a dollar or signing some stupid petition online. I mean GET INVOLVED! It has hit the fan people! Government is up our backside and coming at us from every angle and yet we just mope and groan. Again I ask: How many of you attend your local council meetings? The local politicians are the ones to rise up in power. They see that no one is paying attention which they then feel gives them the power to run amuck. Your local politician can probably name everyone who does attend the meetings because so few do.

This which we have allowed to be created will not be fixed in a short amount of time. It may take a generation or two to fix IF it can be fixed at all! We all must be leaders! At the very least attend your local meetings. Heck, work crosswords puzzles while you are there for all I care but make them think you are watching them! Beyond attending a simple meeting – get on a board. There are probably several from which to choose: Planning & Zoning Board, School Board (THE MOST IMPORTANT in my opinion), Recreation Board – municipalities differ in the boards they offer.

Get out and (subtly) educate your neighbors. Volunteer (and subtly educate).

I know of what I speak. I’m tired. I’m sad.

I just left Costco. I find that I cannot look any one in the eye especially the elderly and the infirm. I wanted to cry every time I saw an elderly person. I am more than half way there myself. I have to tell myself that they (the elderly) voted for B. Hussein Obama knowing full well that they were voting for their own demise.

Take care of yourselves people. Only when you are well can you help others. If you are overweight, loose some pounds because they WILL use it against you when you require healthcare.

The crap has hit the fan! What will it take to get us involved?!?

Cut down all the oak trees because a kid is allergic to nuts?
Even since an Ontario mother launched a campaign to have the oak trees near her kids’ school cut down, arguing that falling acorns endanger children with severe allergies, mommy bloggers have been calling her nuts.

“Apparently, making schools nut-free facilities isn’t enough!” exlaimed cafemom.com. “We now have to fear school-aged children munching on yard debris.”

(Remember the Clinton legacy) The Utah Coal Lockup: A trillion dollar Lippo payoff?”
    Free Republic – February 26, 2011

“Clinton’s announcement at the Grand Canyon was wrapped in political correctness. “Mining jobs are good jobs, and mining is important to our national security – but we can’t have mines everywhere, and we shouldn’t have mines that threaten national treasures,” he told his sycophanticaudience.

But coal is not only important for our nation’s security. More importantly, at the present time it is the most cost-effective fuel for the electric plants that supply our homes and industries with light, heat and power.” – Sarah Foster

Ok so now Holly Petraeus Received a $187,000 WH position
(not subject to oversight) and digging into her background
“Since Petraeus’s abrupt resignation Friday after admitting to an extramarital affair, the focus has been on him and his biographer, Paula Broadwell, with whom he is accused of having an affair. But the fallout from the scandal has engulfed Holly Petraeus, who met her husband in 1973 when he was a cadet at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and her father was the superintendent. They were married in July 1974 at the West Point chapel.

Holly always dismissed suggestions that Petraeus married her to advance his career.

“I’m not stupid. I wouldn’t have married someone on the make,” she told journalist Linda Robinson, whose 2008 book “Tell Me How This Ends” describes the Petraeuses’ courtship. “We got married because we fell in love.”

The daughter of a four-star general who can trace her family’s military service to the Civil War, Holly endured long separations from her husband during his repeated deployments overseas. To many Army couples, she and Petraeus represented a role-model marriage.”
