We have watched this woman closely for the past three years.   While this comes as no surprise, it is staggeringly ridiculous.

Susan Rice was elevated to Cabinet Level Status by President Obama;  Essentially granting her U.N. Ambassador position the same administration level and authority as Secretary of State Hillary Clinton throughout the first term – However, most people do not know that.

Susan Rice is part of the anti-Israel contingent within the Administration – the most notable recent evidence of this was her listening intently to Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad deliver a speech belittling The United States, yet vacating the UN during Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech.

However, Rice has a history, a profound history of ineptitude.  It was Susan Rice who attended a Global Warming Summit instead of meeting with the United Nations Emergency Security Council in Feb 2010 regarding Libya.   MUST READ CATCH UP ARTICLE – Canada FreePress:

Where’s Susan Rice, the cabinet rank ambassador of the free world’s superpower? On the day Hosni Mubarak stepped down as dictator of Egypt, Feb. 11, she was visiting Oregon to give a talk on “Why America Needs the United Nations.” This week, as Libyans escalated their uprising against more than 41 years of Qaddafi’s totalitarian, terror-based reign, Rice sent her deputy to an emergency Security Council meeting on Libya on Tuesday, and took off for a two-day meeting in Cape Town, South Africa.

The “two-day” meeting in Cape Town was on… wait for it…  Global Sustainability.

Last Sunday, before embarking on her trip to South Africa, Ambassador Rice turned up on Meet the Press, to note that the U.S. administration had condemned attacks on civilians in Libya, and comment, before she took off, that despite the murder of protesters in Libya’s second-largest city of Benghazi, “There has been less violence, very little so far in Tripoli.”  (more)

It was also Susan Rice who along with Samantha Power and eventually Hillary Clinton, coordinated the “Weapons for Rebels” in Benghazi.  You know, those weapons which were just used to kill four Americans including the U.S. Ambassador.  Yeah, those weapons.

Samantha Power – Susan Rice – President Obama

It was also Susan Rice who lied to the American public about the cause of the eventual attack on our U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, and attacks on the U.S. embassy in Cairo, which killed four Americans in Libya.

She is a serial liar more concerned with the social benefits of her position than any substantive international advancement of U.S. values.   Susan Rice is the consumate “rube”.

Rice is the only U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. who decided to reside in Washington, D.C. and commute to New York when she thought necessary.  As Maggie eloquently puts it:

No surprise here. U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Susan Rice, stayed in Washington…rather than go the U.N. headquarters in New York. She’s no dummy.  She gets paid the big bucks and get the embossed business card and sends someone else to do her job, and this isn’t the first time. To quote Richard Grenell, a former U.N. Ambassador, Rice is “wildly ineffective.”

Rice, who has “delusions” of grandeur wanted to stay home in D.C. for the Memorial Day weekend [2010]. She did, and she missed the emergency meeting to lynch Israel for their handling of a sea blockade of Turkish ships trying to get to Gaza or be martyred (as one woman put it).   Some were martyred. At this time, none have gotten to Gaza.

Oh well, Rice “was engaged the entire time,” her spokesman said. Deputy U.S. Representative Alejandro Wolff filled-in for her, but she pulled the strings throughout the entire 12 hour meeting. She also didn’t call an emergency meeting for the U.N. in the awful Haiti crisis. It was apparently her place to do so…but she didn’t bother, so U.N. head Ban Ki-Moon had to step in and ask for more troops.

Rice did show up for her glamor spread, photographed by Annie Leibovitz, for Vogue Magazine, however.  Since John Bolton left the position, the U.S. has had zero influence at the U.N. With Rice, our influence is sub-zero.

Rice is still “wildly ineffective” but Vogue thinks “she’s got game.”

Richard Grenell, the Ambassador to the UN during the Bush Administration wrote a damning review of Obama’s Ambassador, Susan Rice. Writing in the Huffington Post, he said Rice had been “wildly ineffective” this past year. Grenell was extraordinarily frank. The “wildly ineffective” comment is just the beginning.

Grenell charged that Rice has been a social butterfly [my interpretation] and ignored her duties on the UN Security Council. Mr. Grenell, as experienced as he is, misses the point.

Rice and Obama have no intention of stirring up the Security Council. How uncomfortable would that be? The trouble-makers are all Islamic Countries, with the exception of North Korea, and the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) runs the place.

The Council will not take action on Iran or North Korea so, why bother, unless showing up if you aren’t sanctioning Iran?  Here’s some snippets from The Hill:

Richard Grenell, who served eight years in the Bush administration as spokesman for four U.S. ambassadors at the U.N., wrote Monday on the Huffington Post that Rice has been more active “in the social scene of Washington and the White House” than at the U.N., as suggested by a Security Council Report study that notes a marked decrease in activity at the Security Council over the past year.

That study in the Report, which is affiliated with Columbia University, said Council decisions dropped by 26 percent in the Obama administration’s first year to the lowest level since 1991. “For an Administration that promised to utilize the UN and improve our reputation around the world, its dinner-party circuit strategy isn’t making America more secure,” Grenell wrote.

Grenell mentioned Rice’s “larger than normal DC-based staff,” plus her 200-person NY based staff, which he says she spends little time with. He spoke of her Annie Leibovitz “glamour spread in Vogue Magazine, shot in an empty Security Council Chamber. She didn’t show for the Council’s Haiti crisis meeting to expand the UN’s peacekeeping mission, and failed to call an emergency meeting to put request more help for the devasted country

…it was UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon that came to the Security Council to request more troops – the American Ambassador hadn’t bothered.”

Nevertheless, Rice said she has had a very productive year [2009/2010].

(CBS News) — President Barack Obama is putting together his cabinet for a second term, including a new CIA director. So far, only Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has confirmed she will leave. And Republicans are already objecting to her potential replacement.

CBS News has learned that President Obama is likely to nominate Susan Rice, the current U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, to replace Clinton as Secretary of State.

White House sources say the president feels he should be able to choose the cabinet members he wants, and they say that Rice has performed well on Iran and North Korea. But Rice was the public face of the administration’s response to the attacks in Benghazi, Libya, saying that they were prompted by a spontaneous protest — not terrorism — and she has come under fire from Republicans.

When asked about the possibility of Rice’s nomination as Secretary of State, Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., had this to say on CBS News’ “Face the Nation”: “I’m not entertaining, promoting anybody that I think was involved with the Benghazi debacle. We need to get to the bottom of it. The president has a lot of leeway with me and others when it comes to making appointments, but I’m not going to promote somebody who I think has misled the country or is either incompetent.   That’s my view of Susan Rice.”  (article)
