Part 1 in a New Ongoing Series

On the night of Feb. 26, 2012 17-year-old Trayvon Martin was fatally shot by George Zimmerman.   Mr. Zimmerman was driving to Target when he spotted Trayvon Martin acting suspiciously while walking through the gated community.   George Zimmerman called the police and then continued to keep an eye on Trayvon Martin.  Watching his actions and informing a police dispatcher of  Martin’s whereabouts.

According to George Zimmerman, as he told police, he fired a personal firearm in self-defense, after Martin attacked him, breaking his nose, and continuing the assault by slamming his head multiple times into the sidewalk.

The media sought to spread a very specific and intentional narrative of racism, and framed their storylines as a white Mr. Zimmerman racially profiling a black teen; a theory the Sanford Police, the FBI, the FDLE eventually the Federal Department of Justice investigated and dismissed as non-factual.

But that did not stop the media from continuing to invest in the false narrative they initially sowed into the mainstream public perception of the case.  Site readers know the detail of these manipulations, we are just going to connect a few visible dots in an effort to streamline the lawsuits upon the media.

Who is Jeff Burnside?

(Via Huff-Po) A veteran NBC Miami reporter has been fired in the ongoing probe over an edited “Today” show clip of George Zimmerman’s 911 call, placed moments before Zimmerman shot unarmed teen Trayvon Martin.

Jeff Burnside was dismissed from network-owned NBC Miami (WTVJ) over a similarly edited clip on Friday, as first reported by South Florida news blog SFLTV.

According to the Miami Herald, two unidentified employees were also disciplined.

NBC Miami said in an “edit explanation” posted Wednesday evening that it broadcast the edited call March 19, confirming it ran several days before the controversial “Today” clip — which according to Poynter’s MediaWire blog was not generated at NBC Miami but at NBC’s Southeastern headquarters, which are also in Miami.

As anybody in the news business knows, something that seems very clear is often very, very complicated,” Burnside told Mediawire when reached by phone on Wednesday.

NBC launched its internal investigation over the “Today” show segment after admitting an “error…that we deeply regret.” Reports the Associated Press:

NBC’s [New York] “Today” show first aired the edited version of Zimmerman’s call on March 27. The recording viewers heard was trimmed to suggest that Zimmerman volunteered to police, with no prompting, that Martin was black: “This guy looks like he’s up to no good. He looks black.”But the portion of the tape that was deleted had the 911 dispatcher asking Zimmerman if the person who had raised his suspicion was “black, white or Hispanic,” to which Zimmerman responded, “He looks black.”

NBC Miami said in its statement that the Burnside segment also omitted the dispatcher’s question.

Earlier this month NBC fired a producer over the “Today” broadcast, which fanned some pundits’ accusations that media outlets rushed to judgment in the case before all information was available.

According to the SFLTV report, an insider said several employees at NBC Miami and NBC news including an editor or photographer were questioned before the network concluded Burnside was ultimately responsible for the misleading edits on NBC Miami’s clip and fired him on Friday.

Burnside filed at least 9 stories on the Martin case for NBC Miami, including an interview with activist Rev. Al Sharpton (apparently since removed) and at least one live report from Sanford where the 17-year-old Martin was shot walking through the gated neighborhood of his father’s girlfriend.  (Huffington Post attribution)

NOW WE NEED TO FOCUS ON THAT LAST PARAGRAPH AGAIN:  (emphasis mine)

…”Burnside filed at least 9 stories on the Martin case for NBC Miami, including an interview with activist Rev. Al Sharpton (apparently since removed) and at least one live report from Sanford where the 17-year-old Martin was shot walking through the gated neighborhood of his father’s girlfriend”….

Hmmm, an interview with Reverend Al Sharpton “apparently since removed” ?   Whoopsie — Bing, Bing, Bing…. Spidey Sense Alert …..   Three words:  “interview”, “Sharpton”, “removed” all in one sentence equals  COVERUP !    Hmmmm….  Lets dig….

Lots of good linky stories here:  All archived by date

HatTip Anonymous Mr. Green:     Well Here is one non-scrubbed *interview* involving Jeff Burnside.   But would Jeff Burnside, the man who specifically and intentionally produced a “doctored” video tape for NBC Miami broadcast have a vested interest in continuing a series of known lies?    Pay ATTENTION to DATES:

The initial notification that Mr. Burnside sent to his followers of his meeting with Rev Al. was on Thursday March 22nd. (see below)

He conducted the broadcast interview of which he speaks on Thursday March 22nd and brags about it on Saturday March 24th.

More than one person took the fall at NBC Miami, but for now, lets just absorb this part.   Jeff Burnside met with Reverend Al Sharpton on Thursday March 22nd, then sometime after the weekend (sat 24, sun 25) transmitted the edited audio to NYC for use on the Nationally Broadcast NBC “Today Show” which aired on Tuesday March 27th.

*also note who Jeff is conversing with in his FB conversation…. name ring a bell?*

*Even NewsBusters smelled something rotten with the NBC narrative*
