Speaker Boehner just elevated my opinion of him exponentially…..
(MSNBC) — Iran is drawing widespread criticism over reports that an Iranian pastor faces execution for refusing to recant his Christian faith and return to Islam. House Speaker John Boehner issued a statement Wednesday asking Iran to spare Yusef Nadarkhani’s life.
“I urge Iran’s leaders to abandon this dark path, spare Yusef Nadarkhani’s life, and grant him a full and unconditional release,” said Boehner, an Ohio Republican.
“Religious freedom is a universal human right,” Boehner said. He said that the prospects that Nadarkhani could be executed “unless he disavows his Christian faith are distressing for people of every country and creed.
“While Iran’s government claims to promote tolerance, it continues to imprison many of its people because of their faith. This goes beyond the law to an issue of fundamental respect for human dignity,” said Boehner. (Full House Statement Here)
British Foreign Secretary William Hague said he “deplored” the reports of the pastor’s sentence. He urged the Iranian government to respect its international human rights commitments and overturn the ruling. (read more)

Praying hard.
Um, I’m jazzed about this, but why is it the Nation’s number 3 guy saying this, and not the Pres or VP or SecState, or even….I don’t know….ANYONE in govt belonging to the party in charge?
If I may speak without filtering myself for viewership….
…. The others you mention do not speak because, well, quite frankly, it doesn’t benefit them. Why should they care, big deal, just another thing going on way over there where no-one is paying attention anyway. Really, why bother? Not worth the effort….
You want to get them involved? Then make the public pay attention. Create some visible benefit for the President or someone of significance. Convince them that drawing attention to Youcef can bring them some elevated identity and they can actually gain from it, and they will get involved. Absent of their own self interest being improved nothing will happen.
Truth.
Sad, but Truth.
1. Barack won’t speak because he is a loathsome closet islamonazi.
2. Biden won’t speak because he is a blithering idiot and couldn’t locate Iran on a map, let alone his back side with two hands and a flashlight.
3. Hillary won’t speak because she is a craven political whore who will say and do anything to cling to power of other men (see #1).
Did I miss anything?
LIKE! And good for John Boehner.
Think you got it all covered there, Mike. But if Biden’s using both hands, how does he hold the flashlight?
With his teeth of course, since that’s where his head is.
“Religious freedom is a universal human right,” Boehner said. He said that the prospects that Nadarkhani could be executed “unless he disavows his Christian faith are distressing for people of every country and creed”…..No, Mr. Speaker, this is not distressing for people of every country and creed. Islamic countries and those who identify with the creed of Islam are not one bit distressed by this. They’re just fine with it. They agree with it. It’s their plan. It’s their “peaceful religion.” No, sir, Mr. Boehner, there is absolutely NO way that this is distressing for “every country and creed.” Either wake up or shut up.
Doesn’t Boehner read the newspapers at all? Doesn’t he know that teenaged girls within the borders of the United States have been murdered by their Muslim fathers simply because they didn’t want to live according to strict Islamic rules? Doesn’t he know that? I don’t recall him saying anything about that. Not a thing. What about all the others who are being murdered by Islamists today because they won’t bow to the demon, Allah? I expect the Iranian murderers will let the man live now–because they know it’s just that easy to shut Boehner up and get the story off the front pages. If they don’t let him live now, it’s because they know they’re free to do whatever they want and no longer regard world opinion at all.
Apparently the WH released a condemnation today:

But only after Boehner’s statement and also this call from Father Jonathan Morris, from the Archdiocese of New York and an analyst for Fox News Channel: “Will President Obama, and the free world, allow the United Nations to continue in its cowardly silence on this matter?”
Further, the State Dept is keeping a low profile about it:
“Officials at the U.S. State Department declined to comment when reached on Wednesday.”
/SARC/Since the State Department declined comment, I wonder if it would be ok if we found a Muslim and decided to cut his head off or shoot him perhaps by—-oh, next Thursday or so—unless he denied his faith and became a Christian. I wonder if they would have a comment about that? /SARC?
Ok, now I AM going to be watching for black helicopters. But it’s crazy, folks, if you just reverse the logic, the threats, the actions, the policies, the decisions—we are living in an evil world and those who are in charge (and looking after “the common defense”—yeah, RIGHT) are the worst crazy-makers I have ever seen in my entire life.
Threaten to burn a Koran in Florida and you’ll get their commentary….
Yup
I hate the Satan-authored isl@mic cult, but I love and pray for its victims, the perpetrators, and those forced into adhering to it that God, the Son of God, our Lord Jesus Christ would have mercy on them and bring them to enlightenment in Him.
